Calvin Van wearing a tan polo shirt

Hi, I'm Calvin.

I build useful thingsfor curious people.

Developer advocate, full-stack software engineer, GTM engineer, and creative technologist working where product, people, and delivery meet.

I start by listening.

Before engineering, I worked in enterprise software sales. That taught me to ask better questions, explain tradeoffs plainly, and pay attention to what people actually need.

I bring that into product work now. Retro games, pixel art, music, and animation influence how I design, but the thing still has to be useful.

Applied AI

I turn models and research into products people can test, learn from, and trust.

Full-stack products

I take ideas from an early sketch through the database, interface, testing, and launch.

Freelance websites

I design and launch thoughtful websites for local businesses, independent clients, and community groups.

Work that solves real problems.

The projects range from an AI tutoring platform to civic technology and voice-controlled music. Each one started with a specific person or problem.
